The most important moments in my life:
  • The day I married Kelly, the woman who changed (and probably saved) my life.
  • The day my son was born. You've never loved someone as much as you love your child. It crystallized me. Being a great Father is something that guides me every day of my life. I know I will do the same for my baby girl, Avery, born June 14th. Failure is not an option.
  • The day my daughter, Avery, was born (June 14th, 2005). When my son was born, I thought there was no way I could love anyone as much. I was wrong. My daughter is a joy of unimaginable proportions. She changes a little bit every day. I’ve rediscovered so much thanks to my kids. It’s like being born again.
Words to live by: "Yesterday's history. Tomorrow's a mystery. Today is a gift." I heard these words from a motivational speaker at a seminar the day before my heart attack.. I thought they were corny. The next day in the emergency room, I realized someone upstairs wanted me to hear them. I don't think they're corny any more.
Favorite Quotes: "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'" from "The Shawshank Redemption" "No man is a failure who has friends" from "It's a Wonderful Life"
My heros: My Mom, her sacrifices for me are innumerable. My beautiful wife, Kelly, and my son, Will. My Mother in law, Mary McConnell who faced cancer with a brave face and defeated it. Brian Hess, my good friend who is serving in Iraq right now. Pat Tillman, NFL star who gave it up to serve in Iraq and made the ultimate sacrifice. All of our military men and women serving in harm's way around the world and their brave families keeping the home fires burning. How Can You Help?
Favorite Charities: The Salvation Army Council on Child Abuse American Cancer Society Juvenile Diabetes Foundation American Heart Association The welfare of children and the prevention of child abuse are the most important causes for me.
